Time to support the Honduran people

The socialist and dictator wannabe Manuel Zelaya failed miserably when he tried to re-enter Honduras. Probably thinking the democratic government would not have the balls to stop him. In a way he was right since all that happened was that the runway was blocked and Zelaya’s plan couldn’t touch down. The democratic government of Honduras should have handled this better from the start and thrown the warmongering ex president in jail or better yet sent him packing for that burning place down below. That this scumbag has the nerve to further antagonize his leftie followers and in doing so causing more violence is appalling and the Hondurans had a change shooting down the plan and get rid of this bastard once and for all but didn’t. Now he can gather some strength in the neighbouring Nicaragua and keep planning a coup. The most outrageous part of this mess however is the lack of support for Honduras and backing from other democracies. The western world should of course condemn the dictator wannabe Zelaya and tell the already in place dictator Hugo Chavez and others that we hope they are next. Hopefully the Venezuelan people and others will follow the Honduran example and get rid of socialist regimes before it is too late.

  3. It is interesting to view the Swedish comments on this matter since they all are in support of the outed President Zelaya. I still havnt grasped the full story but I will talk to my Hondurian friends first and then try to make sense what is going on. Honduras is far from a socialist country and Zelaya is from my perspective a typical opportunist who took on this leftist movement in South America since the other road is simple but not so attractive: If you want to have a better life, get a good education and work hard!

  4. Well the story is very simple really. One man tried broke the law, tried to change the constitution in order to make him re-elected over and over again. When he was told from judges that he couldn’t he went away anyway and bought ballots and such from his dictator buddy Chavez. When the military refused to distribute these ballots – which was also against the law to do– the warmongering ex president fired a military officer – also against the law. The parliament (including his own party), all jurisdictional bodies and a clear majority of the people (according to polls made) said enough is enough and fired the as-hole. Sadly the constitution does not really say what to do in this particular situation so they deported him. In most other countries, Sweden included, the president would have been charged with crimes and stood trial.

  6. Well in Sweden we dont have a president, but if we had and the military tried to trow him out because of him arranging a ballot about the constitution, we would probably protest aswell.
Constitutions needs to be democratically changed to keep up with the peoples whiches.
But in Sweden we already have almost free education and healthcare so the rich would not gain anything from stoping that with a military coup.
And I am no fan of Chavez, but his elected by a mayority of his people and that can´t make him a dictator even if the minority dont like his politics. George W. Bush on the other hand did not have a mayority of the votes in 2000, did it make him a dictator?

  7. Well even the Swedish people would react towards a dictator wannabe constantly breaking the law and constantly trying to force a vote that had no support. And it is true, in Sweden the military would not throw him out; the police would pick him up and drive him to jail. Honduras democratic government did not know what to do so they deported him. A viable solution, but not the best one. He to should have been trialed.

Constitutions should not be changed at all, that’s the point of having a constitution. But even if it is supposed to change, then yes I should be through democratic ways such as going through the proper channels, which is not what we are talking about here.

Chavez was elected yes, so was Hitler. Has nothing to do with democracy. Democracy is how a land is governed, not how many people voted for dictatorship. When it comes to the George “The chimp” Bush he was elected according to the principles of the US. One can think whatever about that, but he did not brake the law in getting elected. However I’m no fan of that idiot that has a big part in letting the US fall into a economic despair and according to the American constitution he might actually be considered to have been a dictator. But even more so is that new false fascist idiot at the white house.
