The wage increase is too small

Some top dogs in a big Swedish bank are getting higher salary while the bank is stumbling and needs to get a government loan. To no surprise politicians and every other stupid “thinker” in the country needs to address this and act chocked. And all of them seem horrified by these “greedy MF’s”. Hardly no one mentioning that they also get their movable bonus taking away and this wage increase is a way to respond to this. In either case, why even care? If they are not eligible for that government loan they shouldn’t have in the first place, fine, let’s talk about that. But their salary is the banks business.

I actually think many of them are underpaid. Sure you might tighten the belt a bit during a financial crisis, but under normal circumstances they should have more money. Most executives and directors in Sweden are criminally poor. There should be a regressive tax law that makes those you earns the most, pay the least and vice versa. The people who produce the most and consequently earns the most should be excluded from paying tax. The lightweights however should be paying more in regard to their income. That would be a fair society.

  4. You probably didn’t get my cleverly innuendo. What I’m saying is two things; that no one should complain over good people getting wages they deserve and that the tax system should change to be fair and righteous. Most people with higher education with important jobs are so underpaid in Sweden that it is frightening.

  5. I think the real, and more important issue, is why we have a banking monopoly (almost anyways), and why we have a central bank that has the divine powers of money creation. The fact that some people can get benefits from this is secondary - the outrage over bankir salaries and bonuses is not a symptom primarily of the wrong people running banks, its a symptom of a corrupt system.

And whether or not a certain country's central bank is better or worse at monetary policy isn't really relevant, because such a thing as a "monetary policy" should not exist.

  6. Hpx83, you are right. There is a bigger issue here, but my blog contribution was mainly a counterweight to those jealous outbreaks that’s normal in most countries. Trying to bring back the gold standard or some other way of eliminating monopoly money, would be the ultimate solution. But my standpoint is that will never happen because people are stupid idiots. Sometimes I try to make people use their brains by pointing out some wrongs, but this blog is mainly for me letting of some steam.

  8. Lol, I love that people never dare putting their name on the "Dumbass!" comments. In response to your comment - believing that people are generally stupid is sort of giving up. I will agree that many people are mislead, and undoubtedly a few of them are in fact utterly stupid, but either we whine and complain, or we try to change stuff. Maybe I'm a bit naive, but there must be some reason that the world keeps spinning and we aren't all dirt poor. Yet.

  9. Well there are two reasons why the world keeps turning; we keep inventing stuff to enhance our total value and governments (and others) make good use of the part that does work; capitalism. And yes, I have given up. I don’t think you can even convince enough people about how things really work. A tiny part of them maybe, but with journalists, religious people and governments walking hand in hand with businesses and most people around you, the truth will never be revealed unless you want to know. And let’s face it, people don’t. When I was younger and more stupid I thought that people would like to know and were just duped, but then I realized that either they are idiots or they simply don’t want to know. So I rather tell people the naked truth and maybe help out increasing the madness rather then the opposite. We need an apocalypse to cleanse the idiocy out of humanity. Oh... I almost sound like one of those religious nutjobs don’t I?
