According a resent, not very scientific, survey it appears that high ranking officials and parliamentarians have few comments and not that many readers of their blogs. I would hardly even call this news and instead say; duh!
First of all, everyone reading a blog post will not comment on it, most of the time they don’t. Secondly who really wants to read politicians very suppressed and highly politically correct mumblings? I sometimes stop by some old friends from back when I was politically active, but I know of few other blogger who does that. Politicians need to write correctly, shortly and not say anything offensive. They cannot write emails or blog entries about what they really think on different subject because that might come back and hunt them, it might even destroy a carrier like it did for one MP recently in the UK (read more about it among my favorite blogs) Old Holdborn. Guido.
Also, for the most part, you already know what they all are writing. The right will put down the left in a nice way and celebrate their own achievement and the left does the same thing but the other way around. Never anything exciting or hardly even readable.
The only politically interesting blogs are the one who are not politically mainstream and attack or write from a different point of view. Consequently libertarians, anarcho-capitalists, communists and conspiracy buffs become much more interesting. If you read people outside the center of politics you can find lots of news that hardly ever reach Europe, you will find harsh language, you will find people writing about what is really going on in the real world and without too much politically correctness and that’s much more interesting, even if you don’t agree with what is written.
